Block paving is a great material to use for a driveway as it is extremely durable and hard wearing so when laid correctly it will be unaffected by cars driving in and out across it on a daily basis. It is also a very low maintenance option for your driveway, because of the way we lay the blocks the only thing it will need is the occasional hose down. Or just a wash if it gets dirty to bring it back up to a like new finish in minutes. Because of the multitude of different blocks available the possibilities are endless you can go for. Concrete Driveways
Concrete driveways whilst not the most popular of options are something you should definitely consider as they come with many unique benefits over other driveway options. Concrete is an extremely durable surface and by far the longest lasting option we can provide and when done properly can last 30+ years before it needs to be renewed. When you take into account the cost of a concrete driveway and how long it lasts it will often work out the cheapest option. Concrete is weatherproof and and easy to look after but you need to be aware that if you have an issue with a leaking car then oil stains can be more difficult to clean from concrete than from a block paved driveway for example. Another potential benefit is the clean modern look of a concrete driveway this is great if you live in a new build or contemporary designed property but may look out of place on a more traditional building.
Gravel Driveways
Gravel driveways can provide a beautiful and extremely cost effective way to spruce up the front of your property with gravel being easily the cheapest option and arguably one of the best looking. With gravel you can have a choice of designs by combining gravel from a range of different stones to give a range of colours. It is important to remember that gravel will require more maintenance than other driveways with semi regular raking of the top surface. We would also recommend a surface dressing for gravel driveways, adding a new top layer, at least once every 2 years which is not an expensive option will keep it looking its best almost like getting a brand new driveway.
